      Frequently asked questions

What is a Korean lash lift?

This semi-permanent, cysteamine-based lash enhancement gently softens natural lashes before shaping them on silicone rods. It leaves lashes with a natural-looking sweep from the root, always customised to the client.

How is this different from a standard lash lift?

The traditional approach shapes and processes lashes in one step using TGA-based formulas, which makes it a little harsher and more “one-size-fits-all.” The Korean lash lift is gentler and more flexible.

Can Korean lash lifts damage my client’s natural lashes?

Not if you perform them right with proper timing. The cysteamine formula is gentler than the traditional approach you may have tried in the past (or that clients may be hesitant of). There’s a minimal risk of over-processing.

      What’s the typical appointment length?

A full appointment takes between 45 to 60 minutes. The whole point is to not rush, as you’re shaping the lashes based on the client in your chair. It’s worth the extra work as they’ll keep coming back for more.

How long will the results last?

6-8 weeks! That’s another reason this is among the hottest offerings in salons across Australia. Actual results will depend on how well the client takes care of their lashes and their own natural lash growth cycle.

What are the aftercare guidelines for a Korean lash lift?

Just as with eyelash extension aftercare, the lashes should be kept dry for the first 24 hours and all oil-based products should be avoided around the eye area. No waterproof mascara, either.

Can you still wear mascara after the Korean lash lift?

Yes, although your clients aren’t going to need as much mascara to define their lashes. The lift itself is going to boost volume and shape as is. Tell your clients to use a water-based formula if they do apply mascara.

Who should not get a Korean lash lift?

Any client with an active eye infection or a known sensitivity to lash lift chemicals. Other than that, a Korean lash lift is generally regarded as safe for all lash types!
